Barnsley FC Community Trust join Football for Good 5-A-Side League

We are delighted to announce that we have joined Football for Good 5-A-Side league in partnership with the Street Soccer Foundation.

The Football for Good Leagues were devised by former footballer turned entrepreneur Keith Mabbutt, who is also the Founder and current CEO of the Street Soccer Foundation.

Operating nationally throughout England, the Street Soccer Foundation works in partnership with several Football Clubs and their Community teams to effect positive social change through the power of football.

The Football for Good Leagues now give the perfect opportunity for teams of working professionals and the public from across the country, to meet and network whilst looking after their physical and mental health and wellbeing – and at the same time, allowing for League participants to give back and support others in their local community. Making a difference to others less fortunate.

The league will begin on Wednesday 21st February at 7:30pm – 9:30pm on Oakwell’s outdoor 3G pitch. Participants have to be over the age of 18 and the cost per week is £35 per team.

Barnsley FC’s Community Trust Participation Officer Aidan Wearmouth said, “We are excited to bring a 5-a-side league to Barnsley and can’t wait to get started. It’s a great initiative to get out with mates and have a kick out while looking after your physical and mental wellbeing”
