RITC to host Tournament for Suicide Awareness

,

Reds in the Community will be hosting a special 7-a-side football tournament to raise awareness for World Suicide Prevention Day.

On Saturday, 9 September, we will aim to support World Suicide Prevention Day by inviting teams from across Yorkshire to take part in our special tournament on the Oakwell Academy Astroturf.

The tournament will run from 2pm – 6pm and entry for each team is £25.

According to the World Health Organisation, around 3,000 people each day commit suicide, but anyone can experience a mental health problem, so being able to talk about it is important.

World Suicide Prevention Day first started in 2003 and is held annually on September 10 each year.

All teams looking to take part should contact Hannah Burton on [email protected] or 07917 650091.

All team entries must be submitted by Friday, 8 September.

If you or anyone you know is concerned about someone who may be suffering can contact organisations like MIND on 0300 123 3393 or visit www.MIND.org.uk

Alternatively, contact the Samaritans on 116123 from any phone or by visiting www.samaritans.org
