Barnsley FC Women Players visit local primary school for World Mental Health Day

On Monday 9th October 2023 Barnsley FC Women Forward Lynn Goodman and Defender Macy Lunn visited Queens Road Primary School to talk to the children about the importance of physical and mental wellbeing in aid of World Mental Health Day.

We celebrate World Mental Health day every year on 10th October 2023. The theme for 2023, which was set up by The World Foundation of Mental Health, is ‘Mental health is a universal human right’

As a charitable organisation we run multiple sessions promoting the importance of Mental Health and World Mental Health Day is a fantastic opportunity of raising awareness and getting people to talk about mental health.

The ladies, popped into every classroom to talk about mental health and the importance of taking part in physical activity and the benefit it can have on it. Learning about Mental Health from a young age is more important than ever and can have a big benefit on children in the future.

The children also had the opportunity to ask them questions about all things Barnsley FC Women and promoting inclusion within sport.
