World Mental Health Day morning dance class with local school

10th October 2022 is World Mental Health Day and through our Premier League Primary Stars Programme we have worked with a local school to promote the importance of staying active in order to improve our mental health.

This morning we joined Queens Road Academy to deliver upbeat and fun Dancerise to all years groups in order to get them active, moving and ready for the rest of their day.

Reds in the Community, Primary Stars Officer, Macauley Hobson said: It has been fantastic to work with a number of pupils as part of World Mental Health Day, promoting healthy living and the importance of staying active to look after our Mental Health’

Students at Queens Road added: ‘I thought it was really good. It made me wake up. I would love to do it again’. (Sophie Y5) ‘I liked it lots as it was fun’ (Alan Y3) ‘It was fun and I would like to do it again’ (David Y4) ‘It was very good. I wish it was for longer. I was full of energy after the session’. (Ruby Y5) ‘It was good and refreshing’. (Maxwell Y6)

We loved hosting this, and hope that we can make it a more regular occurrence in the future, it was worth it just to see the smiles on the pupils faces.
