Reds in the Community are pleased to announce the unveiling of the brand-new programme, Team Talk funded by Barnsley Council, designed to support the mental wellbeing of men in Barnsley and the surrounding areas by getting them talking and socialising with others in a safe environment.

Team Talk is a low-level mental health initiative where men can meet, open-up, take some time out and talk about issues in a relaxed and supportive environment.

The weekly session offers a combined approach to emotional wellbeing, drawing together a mix of social activities and peer support in a football setting, enabling participants to build new friendships and share their experiences as one.

By staying connected within the local community, participants will have the opportunity to take part in a range of games and activities including football, pool, table tennis, darts and video games.

The sessions, which are free to attend, will support participants in improving their mental health and emotional wellbeing by providing information and talks about meeting life’s challenges.
