Reds in the Community have launched an Overnight Football Tournament in order to raise funds for the Fit Reds programme to continue running into 2018.

A 7-a-side tournament on Oakwell’s outdoor astroturf will commence at 7pm on Friday, 3 November and run through until around 11am on Saturday morning, ahead of Barnsley’s clash with Birmingham City.

All players and teams who take part in the tournament will receive a match ticket to watch the Reds in action against the Blues.

And the two teams who make it to the final will then have the chance to grace the hallowed turf at Oakwell, taking penalties on the pitch at half time to decide the overall winners of the tournament.

There will also be a bonus prize for the player who attracts the most sponsorship for the tournament, of a signed shirt from the Barnsley FC first team and two tickets to any home league match of your choice!

Our Fit Reds programme is well into its fifth year and has between 70 – 100 participants attending our weekly Thursday night sessions at Oakwell.

As a charity, Reds in the Community is wanting to be able to run more sessions for people across Barnsley and continue to make a positive difference to their lives and help change their lifestyles.

Entry is £5 per man and teams must consist of a maximum of 10 players. All teams must be registered at the Reds in the Community building by 5pm on Friday, 27 October with a completed PARQ form.
