Move to Lose female fitness sessions launch

Reds in the Community are delighted to announce the launch of the Move to Lose health and fitness programme for women.

The initiative, which is a new and improved replacement for Soccercise, will run every Thursday evening from 17:30-18:15 in the East Stand at Oakwell, costing just £1 per week!

Sessions will consist of circuit training, including activities such as running, press-ups, sit-ups, squats and more.

The main aim is to help participants become a bit healthier through regular and carefully designed exercise.

It doesn’t matter whether you currently partake in physical activity or not, Move to Lose is catered for all abilities.

Circuit training will be completed to music, helping create a fun and friendly environment for everyone involved.

On top of the health benefits, there is also the chance to meet like-minded people in a relaxed and supportive setting.

There is no need to book, just turn up and enjoy yourself!

The programme is designed by Women & Girls Development Officer Lynn Goodman, who will run the sessions alongside other female coaches.

Goodman said: “Move to Lose is aimed at improving women and girls’ health within Barnsley and to change their perceptions on exercising. Reds in the Community see the importance of providing the opportunity for females to exercise and Oakwell is a great place for them to do that.

“These sessions are aimed at getting females on the move but in a fun and enjoyable way rather than a military environment. Sessions are designed for females of all abilities and can be adapted for individuals with different needs.”
