Barnsley FC Community Trust is delighted to have been selected as one of 22 charities, community groups and foundations to take part in the Sky Bet Community Sweepstake, offering the chance to secure a significant funding boost for its community programmes.
Sky Bet has partnered with York Racecourse for the exciting initiative, which will see each shortlisted organisation assigned a stall number and paired with a horse competing in the prestigious Sky Bet Ebor.
The pairings will be revealed during a live televised draw on Thursday, 20 August, ahead of the highly anticipated Raceday on Saturday, 22 August.
The organisation matched with the winning horse will receive a £20,000 grant to support its work in the local community. Charities paired with the second and third-placed horses will receive £5,000 and £2,000 respectively. Importantly, every shortlisted organisation is guaranteed a minimum contribution of £1,000 towards a designated project or initiative.
The funding would provide a valuable boost to Barnsley FC Community Trust’s ongoing work across the borough, supporting programmes that improve health and wellbeing, inspire young people and create opportunities for people of all ages through sport and community engagement.
