Barnsley FC Community Trust is once again teaming up with The Rucksack Project to help support vulnerable individuals facing hardship this winter and is calling on the local community to come together and donate essential items.
Following the success of previous collections, the Trust is aiming to make this year’s campaign bigger and better than ever, helping ensure those most in need have access to warm clothing, food, toiletries and other essentials during the cold winter months.
Supporters attending Barnsley FC’s fixture against Huddersfield Town on Saturday 19th December (12:30pm kick-off) will be able to donate with volunteers from The Rucksack Project based in the Ozone area on matchday.
For those unable to attend the fixture, donations can be dropped off at Barnsley FC Community Trust reception from 16th November onwards.

Adie Flute, Founder of Barnsley’s The Rucksack Project, said:
“Every year we’re overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity shown by people across Barnsley. The support we receive through this collection helps us provide vital items to people experiencing homelessness and hardship during the coldest months of the year. We know times are difficult for many, but every donation, whether a sleeping bag, a can of deodorant or a pot noodle, can make a real difference to someone’s life”
Kieron Campbell, CEO of Barnsley FC Community Trust, said:
“We’re proud to support The Rucksack Project once again and play our part in helping those who need it most. The Barnsley community has always shown incredible generosity, and we’re hoping supporters, partners and local residents will once again come together to help make this our biggest collection yet. Together, we can ensure more people have access to essential items and support throughout the winter period.”
Barnsley FC Community Trust is encouraging supporters, local businesses and residents to get involved and help spread some warmth this winter. Every donation received will go directly towards supporting people across the local community who are experiencing homelessness or facing difficult circumstances.
