Barnsley FC Community Trust is proud to announce that both its Premier League Primary Stars and Premier League Kicks programmes have been awarded an ‘Exemplary’ rating in their latest end-of-year assessments by the Premier League Foundation.
This outstanding achievement recognises the quality, reach and impact of both programmes, highlighting the fantastic work lead by both Macauley Hobson and Jack Stones, the dedication of staff, participants, schools, partners and communities across Barnsley.
The assessments acknowledged the successful achievement of key performance indicators, alongside strong practice in strategic targeting, participant engagement, youth voice, impact measurement, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and safeguarding.
Over the past year, Premier League Primary Stars Officer, Macauley Hobson, has led the delivery of PLPS across local primary schools, using the power of football and sport to inspire learning, support personal development for teachers and create positive educational outcomes for young people.
Meanwhile, Premier League Kicks Officer, Jack Stones, has continued to engage young people through community-based sessions that provide safe spaces, positive role models and opportunities to develop confidence, resilience and social connections through sport.
The dual Exemplary grading reflects the commitment of Barnsley FC Community Trust to delivering high-quality programmes that make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people throughout the borough.
James Cooke, Head of Participation & Inclusion at Barnsley FC Community Trust, said:
“To receive an Exemplary grading for both Premier League Primary Stars and Premier League Kicks is a fantastic achievement and one that everyone involved should be incredibly proud of. Macauley and Jack have shown exceptional commitment throughout the year, consistently delivering engaging, impactful and high-quality sessions that place young people at the heart of everything they do. These outcomes are not only a reflection of their hard work, but also the strength of our partnerships with schools, community organisations and participants themselves. Together, we are creating opportunities that help young people grow, succeed and thrive both on and off the pitch. The recognition from the Premier League Foundation demonstrates the positive impact our programmes are having across Barnsley and reinforces our commitment to using the power of sport to support education, inclusion and community development.”
Alongside Premier League Primary Stars and Premier League Kicks, Barnsley FC Community Trust also receives funding to deliver Premier League Inspires and Fans Fund programmes, extending opportunities for young people and fans to engage in positive activities, develop new skills and strengthen connections within their communities.
The Trust would like to thank all participating schools, young people, families and partner organisations for their continued support throughout the year.
