Congratulations Jacob!
Jacob Brown has been nominated as the Reds ‘EFL Player in the Community’ sponsored by the PFA 2019-20 as part of the Football League Annual Awards.
This category aims to recognise, highlight and reward the effort, work and commitment by individual players who go that extra mile away from the football pitch to support initiatives within local communities.
Over the course of the year, Jacob has willingly given up his time to propel good community causes.
As the charity’s Sports Participation Ambassador, the 21-year-old volunteered at a number of local events. He has paid a visit to Reds in the Community’s holiday soccer camps that run every half-term and has appeared on many player visits within local schools, inspiring children and young people aged between 5 -14 through sport, as they look to develop essential life skills beneficial for the future.
Jacob has been a pleasure to work and has been an outstanding example of the importance of player involvement and the impact this can have on the local community. Jacob fully deserves his nomination put forward by Reds in the Community and Barnsley Football Club as a true professional and champion. Well done Jacob!
