Two Free Places Available for NCS!
Reds in the Community are able to offer TWO FREE PLACESĀ for our forthcoming NCS Waves!
Following a donation, spaces have become available for our Wave Three and Wave Four programmes, beginning on July 24 and July 31 respectively.
The cost of the programme is normally Ā£1,200 per person, but the donation has enabled us to open up two places completely free.
NCS is aged at students and young people aged 15-17 and gives you a chance to challenge yourself and gain some work and life skills in the process.
It is broken down into four phases and takes place over four weeks in the summer holidays, so what happens?
Phase One: You’ll be spending five days (four nights) living away from home at an outdoor activity centre, taking on new challenges and adventures such as rock climbing, canoeing and abseiling.
It gives you a chance to meet new people and push yourself to the limit.
Phase Two: It’s your chance to discover something new! Another five days and four nights away, this time in a Uni-style environment where you’ll be given the chance to boost your confidence and develop your life skills, as well as your CV and UCAS application form.
You may be meeting important figures and organisations in the local community or even discovering new things about yourself.
Phase Three: Now everything you’ve learnt in the first two phases come together. You’ll be developing your own community project to put into action and help make a difference.
Phase Four:Ā Now it’s time to celebrate your work!Ā You’ll meet up with all your mates at graduation and celebrate the great things you’ve done throughout your time with NCS!
Around 300,000 people have already taken part in NCS, with seven in ten graduates saying they are more confident of getting a job after doing NCS, while eight in ten grads have kept in touch with the friends they met throughout their time on the programme.
