James Norwood and Josh Benson joined the RITC team at Barnsley Hospital to promote programmes for Men’s Mental Health.

We were joined by Josh Benson and James Norwood at Barnsley Hospital earlier today (27th October) to help promote our Team Talk Men’s mental health group that we run at the Oakwell Indoor Training Centre.

The event was organised for back in September but was rearranged due to the death of Her Majesty the Queen. Based in the hospital restaurant we met with both staff and patients to discuss the importance of looking after our mental health. We also made a visit to the hospital’s extremely busy A&E department to speak with staff about their mental health and the free sessions such as Team Talk and Healthy Minds which could help or at least give them an opportunity to have a chat with our staff members.

Hospital Counsellor Dawn Denham who initially reached out to us said ‘I am really passionate about men’s mental health and I can’t thank you enough for taking the time out to visit with us today. I hope that we can continue to build on our relationship to collectively promote this important message’
