Help us continue to support our community!
We are delighted to have been selected as one of the chosen causes to take part in the Co-op Local Community Fund.
Our aim is to raise enough funds to run an after-school multi-sports session in Wombwell, so young people aged 8-13 and 14-19 can enjoy being physically active and socialise with their peers.
This project will enable young people to exercise and socialise together in their community. It will help restore normality and ensure participants are not drawn into any negative or anti-social behaviours. The group chats will encourage new relationships and peer support as well as stimulate discussion on needs and hopes, that will empower participants to identify and shape future projects across Barnsley.
Here at Reds in the Community, we have a focus on improving the lives of thousands of individuals living in Barnsley and the surrounding areas by supporting people across four key themes; Health, Social Inclusion, Sports Participation and Education.
By positively utilising the unique reach of Barnsley FC and working collaboratively with local and national partners, we continue to play an active part in our community, whether that be through the work of our ‘Every Player Counts’ disability programme, Post 16 Education or supporting refugees. Our aim remains to tackle some of society’s biggest challenges using the club and sport for a force for good.
In 2019 we helped more people than ever to better their lives and with your support we can continue to improve wellbeing, increase participation and promote positive behaviours within our community.
Between now and October 23rd 2021, Co-op members can support Reds in the Community by voting in one of the local stores or funeral branches below.
