Just like watching Brazil! Fit Reds new away kit inspired by the spirit of 97!
The ‘Fit Reds’ veterans football team consisting of men who completed the healthy lifestyles programme delivered by Barnsley FC’s Community Sports & Education Trust and PSS (Personal Shaped Support) have recently acquired a new away strip based on the classic Brazilian1970 World Cup team.
The veterans regularly play friendlies with other men’s health schemes and other football clubs such as Wigan Athletic, Scunthorpe United and Hull city. The friendlies are a real motivator for the men to keep fit as well as providing opportunities for men to visit other professional football grounds.
In May this year, the Fit Reds vets are also participating in their first international friendly partly organised by Dutchman Carlo Van der Waterin. Carlo completed the programme in March 2013 and has been living in Barnsley for over 20 years.
Mick Clayton, 42 from Wombwell, who works for local company GQA (back row, second from right) facilitated the purchase of the new kit on behalf of his company.
The Fit Reds programme is supported by the British Heart foundation and delivers healthy lifestyle programmes all over Barnsley. For further details contact [email protected] or tel 01226 211333
