Barnsley FC Community Trust host CreativeHUT for a STEM Education Event at Oakwell this Saturday!
This Saturday 19th August we are running an exciting afternoon of activities that are free of charge at Oakwell prior to the Oxford United fixture. The day is all part of the Multiply initiative. Multiply is a partnership programme through the Skills and Employability team within Barnsley Council and Barnsley FC Community Trust.
On the day we will be hosting Creative Hut in the Ozone at Oakwell 13:00 – 3:00.
The CreativeHUT afternoon of activities will include LEGO® racing cars, robotics & coding experiences, and a giant interactive LEGO® build of our club crest as a mosaic made from LEGO® bricks. It won’t just be the kids who enjoyed themselves as many parents will have the opportunity to be transformed back to their childhoods as they enthusiastically build and test the LEGO® cars and let their competitive sides come out when there were prizes to be won!
STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) is a fantastic way to develop bright minds and develop confidence in coding and robotics to become engineers of the future.
Edutainment experiences from CreativeHUT deliver plenty of fun, smiles and laughter while being centred around learning through play and the development of essential 21st century skills such as problem solving and critical thinking. To add to the event, there will also be opportunities to meet Barnsley FC players, along with the club mascot Toby Tyke!
