Re-vamped Premier League Kicks begins

Reds in the Community are proud to announce the launch of our re-vamped FREE Premier League Kicks sessions for boys and girls aged 8-19.

After successful programmes at Outwood Academy Carlton and Dearne Advanced Learning Centre, RITC will be returning to both locations again.

Premier League Kicks is a youth outreach programme with the aim to create safer, stronger and more respectful communities through the development of young peoples’ potential, whilst giving young people access to facilities, coaching and mentoring.

In its first decade, Premier League Kicks has engaged more than 180,000 young people in weekly football, sport and personal development sessions held at local community venues across the UK. 68 Premier League, English Football League and National League clubs now run the programme.

PL Kicks sessions are run by FA qualified coaches from Reds in the Community and are designed to develop youngsters’ football ability and general fitness through a variety of activities.

RITC will be re-vamping Kicks sessions to ensure they are more engaging and help improve the footballing ability of participants further through in-depth training.

Sports Development Officer Kieron Campbell said: “I’m delighted that we can continue running our Premier League Kicks sessions in Carlton and Dearne. They have already been really successful but we are constantly striving to improve the experience for participants. Our re-vamped sessions will only see the success of Premier League Kicks grow further.”

Alongside progressing technical skills, there will also be chances to represent Barnsley FC against other professional football clubs.

Participants will receive free match tickets to see the Reds at Oakwell while there is also the potential to volunteer within the programme, something which has previously progressed into paid coaching opportunities with Reds in the Community.

There are several benefits to attending Kicks sessions and the best part is, it costs absolutely nothing!
