Elliot Simoes visits St Helen’s Primary Academy!

Barnsley Football Club’s Elliot Simoes paid a visit to St Helen’s Primary Academy this afternoon.

The attacker was the latest Reds first-team player to give up his time to give back to the local community.

Simoes took part in a fun question and answer assembly in front of the whole school, which began with an introduction about himself before a range of questions were asked in what was an exciting and engaging experience for everyone involved.

Having provided an insight into life growing up Portugal, Simoes then stayed behind to pose for photos with fans.

For Simeos, this was his first player visit in Barnsley colours. The 20-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Oakwell after signing for the Reds in January last year.

Speaking about his first experience of giving back to the local community, he said: “It was good because I remember being that age and seeing football players visit from teams I supported, so it was nice to give back.

“When the kids asked about my diet and things like that, it’s nice to teach them about eating healthily and they can learn from it. It gives the ones that want to play football someone to look up to.”
