The Sponsored Penalty Shoot-Out is a highly successful initiative which raises money for schools and Reds in the Community. The initiative is entirely self-funded and helps to support activities delivered in local primary schools across the borough.

Children are given the opportunity to take penalties in school, for which they are sponsored by friends and family. There are prize incentives for raising different amounts of money including; medals, caps, signed footballs, match tickets, and a signed Barnsley FC shirt.

Alison Quinn of Dearne Highgate Primary commented: “The coaches worked well with the children from the ages of 6 to 11. School staff were impressed with how they interacted with the children. The follow up Sponsored Penalty Shoot Out was well organised and a massive success, raising over £3400.”
