Barnsley Football Club players Adam Jackson and Alex Mowatt met pupils at Ward Green Primary School this afternoon.
The first-team duo spent an hour and a half engaging with over 300 young children from the local community.
First, Adam and Alex took part in a question and answer assembly with the full school.
After answering the various questions that pupils and teachers had, they then worked their way around each classroom.
Meeting children on a one-to-one basis from reception to year six, Adam and Alex offered up their time to sign Barnsley FC memorabilia, footballs and football boots.
Alex, fresh from his stunning goal in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Scunthorpe and from being nominated for the PFA Player of the Month award, enjoyed his afternoon in the local community.
He said: “We’ve had a question and answer session for about 10-15 minutes and then we’ve gone around to all of the classes to sign all the things that they’ve brought in for us to sign. They were Barnsley fans here so it’s good to come down and put a smile on their face. It’s good to see the reaction when we come in, everyone’s surprised and really enjoys it. Every Thursday we do an appearance so there’s always two players going somewhere. I think it’s good that we go out and see the fans.”
