Mick McCarthy’s Memories of Barnsley FC!

Reds in the Community is proud to launch Our Club, Our Ground, Our Past, Our Future, a campaign to tell the story of Barnsley Football Club through the memories of its supporters and community.

Our Club puts supporters at the heart of displays within Oakwell, and explores the Club’s 130-year history through the eyes of the fans.

The latest in our series comes from former Barnsley FC defender and current Ipswich Town manager, Mick McCarthy, who kick-started his professional football career at Oakwell.

Reds in the Community will also feature some of the memories shared in displays at Oakwell. We hope that supporters and the wider community continue to share their memories and experiences of supporting Barnsley, through which fans continue to write the club’s history, into the future.

Watch our video to hear some of Mick’s Barnsley FC stories and memories!
