Reds in the Community is a registered charity that uses the power of football and Barnsley Football Club to engage and improve the lives of local people through a range of activities and projects within four key themes – Education, Health, Sports Participation and Social Inclusion.
After several years of success and growth, we are now looking for new committed individuals to expand the range of trustee skills and help develop our new Three Year Strategy.
We require motivated people who are sympathetic to the aims and objectives of Reds in the Community to fulfil these voluntary duties. We have a friendly board of trustees and are keen to welcome new people to support our work.
We expect trustees to contribute actively to the board by supporting the Chief Executive Officer to shape the Charity’s provision through creative and informed thinking.
We want to have a wide range of people on the board that seek to be representative of the diverse population of the borough.
There is no need to have prior trustee experience to apply however an interest in helping local people through the work of Reds in the Community is essential.
Following a recent skills audit with an eye on the future, we are particularly looking for individuals with marketing, fundraising, measuring impact and evaluation skills in order to expand our expertise in these areas.
The board will meet five times a year at Barnsley Football Club, however there may also be occasions where decisions need to be made outside of board meetings.
If you would like to use your skills and experience at board level to help expand our work, we very much look forward to hearing from you.
