RitC COVID Consultation Survey Summary

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who completed our recent consultation survey on the emerging needs and issues facing Barnsley and the local community in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Having collated and analysed both the data and the comments, the feedback indicates that before COVID-19, poor health and lifestyle was the biggest factor affecting adults and young people in Barnsley. This was then followed by mental health and lack of things to do.

However, in the current COVID-19 landscape, mental health is now ranked as the most pressing need ahead of poor health and lifestyle. According to the data, the groups needing most support are those with mental health problems, older people, young people aged 11 to 19 and people with long-term health conditions.

The tables below show the groups you feel need most support and the projects most needed.

We will be using your feedback to inform planning and project development. We have already conducted an initial review of the data during a recent planning event. This will be revisited now we have a much bigger data sample to ensure our priorities are responsive and aligned to your needs. We will also be sharing the results with our colleagues in Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, South Yorkshire NHS Foundation Trust and Yorkshire Sport Foundation.

Finally, we would like to thank you again for taking part in the survey and for your ongoing support. We have received some really positive, kind feedback from our sessions and we really appreciate that you have taken the time to share your ideas, experiences and observations with us and we will do our very best to take this on board moving forwards.

If you would still like to be involved and have your voice count, we are still accepting submissions as part of our ongoing consultation. You can complete our survey HERE
