Reds in the Community Join Kickstart Scheme

Reds in the Community are delighted to introduce our new employees through the ‘Kickstart’ scheme thanks to funding grants from the Government’s Kickstart scheme and the DWP.

The funding from this scheme enables RITC to provide 25 hours of work to promising individuals for a total of 6 months; therefore giving local young people a chance to ‘kickstart’ their careers. This scheme is in partnership with the English Football League Trust and Job Centre Plus.

At RITC, we are passionate about giving everyone a chance and nurturing their potential. This is why the Kickstart scheme is a perfect opportunity for us to find and develop local, young talent to inspire a brighter future within the town of Barnsley.

We have recruited the following employees through Kickstart; Chloe Brown (Assistant Community Sports Coach), Luke Ely (Assistant Community Sports Coach and Curtis Evison (Assistant Community Sports Coach).

The new recruits have all made a massive impact since starting in October, assisting with sessions across Health, Sports Participation and Inclusion departments at this busy period for RITC.

Hannah Philips, Head of Inclusion said ‘All three of our Kickstart recruits have made such a difference to our team already, supporting our full-time coaches in many sessions. They will bring vital skills and support for RITC over the next 6 months and the scheme is a fantastic way to enhance their CV and boost their career’
