Reds in the Community are running a Christmas Hamper initiative to support local families this festive period. The initiative has been supported through a number of partners of which includes a community group linked to local football team Athersley Rec, who on Saturday 28th November ran a village to village relay clocking up more than 30 miles in an effort to raise funds. The initiative is additionally being supported through Reds in the Community staff members and Barnsley FC.
Christmas Hampers are accessible for families within Barnsley with the aim of ensuring children in our Town have access to food over the festive period. The hamper is there to support families during this difficult period and we would like everyone who would benefit from this to contact us.
The Christmas hampers will consist of essential food items from tinned goods, cereal, bread and sandwich items along with Christmas treats.
The Christmas initiative follows on from the successful work during October half term which saw Reds in the Community staff donate money to offer free packed lunches for young people across Barnsley.
Families across Barnsley can access these hampers from the 14th December – 18th December.
If you would like to receive one of these hampers or know a family who would benefit from this, please have them register for a collection date and time (AM/PM) using the tickets available. (Please note that tickets close 11:30pm the night before)
